Encountering a greater beauty through music Jack Arians

Growing up, my grandfather loved to share his favorite jazz records with me. This eventually led to me learning to play the trumpet and joining the Jazz Ensemble in school. So now, whenever I listen to those old jazz records I've since inherited from my grandfather, I am not just moved in that I enjoy the combination of instruments or chords present in the style. Rather, when I listen to my grandfather's old records, I am enveloped in a type of beauty that contains all of those experiences I've had with my family, the experiences I've had in music, and in a way it connects me with the idea of who I am because I derive a lot of my moral compass from my grandfather.
